Papers consisting of biographical and genealogical materials, correspondence, telegrams, letters, contracts, photographs, poems, financial records, and printed materials of various types. Primary correspondents included family members John H. Bankhead (1842-1920), Mrs. Tallulah B. Bankhead, William B. Bankhead, Florence M. Bankhead, Louise Bankhead, Louise B. Lund, Marie B. Owen, and Henry M. Bankhead. Others who corresponded either with Tallulah or about her include Knox Julian, the Actors Equity Association, Mary Olive Tinder, Orline Shipman, and Pete Jarman. The photographic series, 1904-1968, is particularly interesting. It contains many photographs of her, some taken by Juniere (N.Y.) and Sarony (N.Y.), and others of her alone or with cast members in a play or movie. There are candids of her as well. There are also newspaper clippings, primarily from the period 1932-1942, and quite a few magazine articles about her, as well as a few contracts and financial records.

Pete Jarman was born in Greensboro, Ala. in 1892 and was a veteran of World War I.
